When you meet someone you hate

The university is like a miniture of the society. Meeting new friends and getting along with them may seems easy, but it's more to this than meets the eye. How unfortunate that I was allocated to Hall V, the oldest hall amogst all the halls. Worse still, my roomate sucks. It's no easy to face him everyday for a semseter, imagine how it feels like if he's my colleague and I have to face him for several years.

HKUST

Worst roomate

My roomate is a messy Korean without manners. He throw his clothes on the desk and even invaded my area with his dirty clothes. He used my Shampoo and tooth paste without asking, which turned out losing my Shampoo in the bathroom. I warned him several times but he kept doing so. He stays awake at night and sleeps during day time. His behavior is literally a nuisance to me.

Can't tackle the problem? Prevent it

After knowing that he's a person who doesn't feel sorry, I tried to prevent the problem instead of giving him useless warnings. I put my things in a consealed area where he cannot find them easily. He hasn't stolen from me ever since. Then I swapped hall to Hall VII in order to get rid of him.

It's the same in workplace

I understand that after entering the society, there's someone who works different style as I do. It's nonsense and ineffective to bargain or warn them after several unsuccessful attempts. My advice to whoever who's reading this passage, seek your own way where you feel comfortable and avoid having conflict. Try not to cloud yourself with rage. Avoid letting haters affect your feeling which then affects your work performance. More imporatantly, regardless of what the hater caused, learn to forgive. Sometimes, it's not the job that you don't like, it might be the troublesome collagues who gives you the pressure. That's why when determining a good company, despite the reputation of the company, department culture is another major factor you should consider before entering the company.

I'm now waiting for check in period to my new hall, where my unit has an independent toilet. I'm really looking forward to my next roomate in Hall VII.

Merry Christmas

Anyway, it's almost Christmas, remember to forgive the ones you don't like. Everyone deserves a second chance !
